Announcement:

An update on our merger

We are writing to update you on the merger of NPC Park Parade, NPC 49 Marine Avenue, NPC Spring Terrace and NPC Nelson.

The merger will take place on 1 April 2025. From this date, the 4 practices will become NPC North Tyneside. Each surgery will remain open as usual and retain its identity, but be rebranded as:

  • NPC North Tyneside – Park Parade
  • NPC North Tyneside – 49 Marine Avenue
  • NPC North Tyneside – Spring Terrace
  • NPC North Tyneside – Nelson

All of the above practices are NPC practices. They have a history of working together as NPC practices within the North Tyneside area. They use the same clinical system.

We believe that doing this will bring positive change and benefits for you. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Centralisation of front and back-office functions. This will ensure we do things as efficiently as we can. It will also increase resilience.
  • The chance to share best practice and build a stronger team.
  • Reduced costs from improved efficiencies. This will allow for reinvestment to develop and expand the services we provide.
  • Future sustainability to allow us to continue to deliver high-quality and safe primary healthcare.

You do not need to do anything. You will remain registered with your GP practice and can contact us as normal.

You can continue to access care at your preferred site. The doctors, nurses and support staff that you see will all remain the same. Phone numbers and access routes will remain the same.

To complete this process, we will need to do a system merger on 29 April. We plan to minimise any disruption to services on this day and will provide further updates on our website, Facebook page and in practice nearer the time.
